Meeks & Zilberfarb Orthopedics and Sports Medicine is pleased to announce the addition of Melissa R. Scott, PA-C to our team. She was previously employed by the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health Care System.
She is a physician assistant specializing in general orthopedic medicine. She graduated in 2009 from Oregon State University with a major in Exercise and Sports Science and a minor in Chemistry. In 2012, she graduated from Marywood University in Scranton, PA with a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. She is board certified by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants.
Ms. Scott is a committed athlete and has run in 14 marathons including qualifying for the Boston Marathon five times. She will participate in the Chicago Marathon this fall on October 9, 2016. Melissa played softball, basketball and volleyball in college and raced triathlons in college for Oregon State University. Her hobbies include biking, hiking, scuba diving, traveling and spending time with her dog, Bailey.
Melissa finds diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal injuries to be most engaging and likes the hands-on aspect of orthopedics.
“My philosophy is really to spend the extra minute and go the extra mile. The most important thing I have learned in my four years of practice is to be compassionate and really listen to patient’s questions and concerns. It goes a long ways to not only to build rapport with the patient, but to help make the correct diagnosis,” said Ms. Scott.
Melissa Scott, PA-C is available for appointments in our Brookline office located at 1101 Beacon Street, Suite 5W Brookline, MA from Monday through Friday, 8 AM until 5 PM. The phone number is 617-232-2663.
